PFIZER-IIT Delhi Innovation and IP Program (PIIIP)

FITT and Pfizer Limited entered into a collaboration agreement on 16th July, 2015 to organize "Pfizer-IIT Delhi Innovation and IP Program (PIIIP)” to

  • provide physical infrastructure at the Biotechnology Business Incubator to incubates for setting up an office and a prototyping laboratory
  • funding support to take ideas to proof of concept/product prototyping and IP stage,
  • mentoring support from IIT Delhi faculty and experts and
  • mentoring support from Pfizer colleagues in India and US.

The PIIIP shall also create opportunities whereby innovators can engage with venture capitalists and industry to take innovations into commercialisation.

Fund Support

Under this, Pfizer shall provide a grant to the tune of Rs.3.7 crore to FITT for support to four CSR incubation projects, filing of upto 10 IPs for technologies in the pharmaceutical / healthcare sector, etc.

Some of the biotech based incubation projects approved for incubation at Biotech Business Incubation Facility (BBIF), IIT Delhi under the PIIIP are:

  • A novel endo-nasal air purification device with minimal airflow resistance
  • Early stage, cost effective diagnosis and antibiotic susceptibility test of Typhoid in 7 hours
  • Development of a novel platform technology for transdermal delivery of multi-micronutrients
  • Physical simulator for endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy (ETV Simulator) and Ventricular Shunt Placement
